Romantic journeys on the Isle of Man

Romantic journeys on the Isle of Man

Our base is the island capital, Douglas - with its delightful promenade, Victorian Pier, and specialist shops. With excursions to both north and south of the island featuring three different Manx railways including a ride up the Snaefell.

Enjoy a 4 nights / 5 days stay at the fabulous 3* Chesterhouse hotel located on the Loch Promenade on the Isle of Man.

This hotel blends a sylish quality with a rare unique intimacy and provides a perfect holiday base.  All ensuite bedrooms are well appointed with tv, telephone, hairdryer, tea & coffee making facilities.  Entertainment is provided on two evenings.

Douglas and all of its amenities, including an extensive shopping area and variety of bars and restaurants, are a short walk from the hotel. Advice on the island's attractions and how to find them are available from reception.

Day 1.  We depart your home town and travel to Heysham for an afternoon sailing to the Isle of Man continuing our journey to the hotel for 4 nights stay on dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 2.  After breakfast we depart for our excursion on the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey, home of the famous ' Lady Isabella' water wheel, and the Laxey Woollen Mill.  At Laxey, we join the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a glorious scenic ride to the summit.  Later we continue to the north of the island to Ramsey and return to Douglas following part of the TT race cours through Sulby and Kirk Michael.

Day 3.  After breakfast you can enjoy a free day in Douglas to relax and explore the town at your own pace.  Take a ride along the promenade on one of the famous horse-drawn trams, browse through the shops or just sit and watch the world go by.

Day 4.  After breakfast we depart hotel and make our way to the Isle of Man Steam Railway for a ride through the countryside of the south of the island to Port Erin, with its beautiful bay overlooked by majestic Bradda Head.

After a break we continue to Port St Mary and Castletown, the island's former capital.  We end the day with a visit to Peel, on the west coast, before returning past Tynwald, home of the Manx Parliament, and across the island via Union Mills, another famous TT landmark, to Douglas.

Day 5. After breakfast we depart hotel and return to the harbour for the crossing to Heysham continuing on the way to our home area and arriving in the evening.
