Preston Park Museum & Grounds is a wonderful day out for all the family - Whether you're stepping back in time on the Victorian Street, exploring the museum galleries and gardens, taking a stroll through beautiful parkland or letting off steam in the adventure play area, there's something for everyone.
Nestled alongside the River Tees, Preston Hall, a former Georgian gentlemans residence and once home to local industrial magnate Robert Ropner, houses a vast collection of artefacts which tell the story of Stockton-On-Tees.
Step through the Victorian portico and discover more about the families who lived here and their role in shaping Stocktons history. Admire the museums beautiful collections and explore the history of the mighty River Tees. Step over our backwards ticking clock and emerge into the world of 1895 to engage with our costumed volunteers in our Victorian Street .
The park is situated adjacent to the River Tees and offers riverside and woodland walks, picnic areas, childrens play areas, café and public toilets.
Butterfly World at Preston Park - At Butterfly World you can enter the magical world of a Tropical Rain Forest, where you can stroll at your leisure past beautiful trees and flowers. Sit beside the splashing waterfalls and pools and enjoy watching the vibrant wing beats of hundreds of the worlds most exotic and beautiful butterflies fill the air. There is also a separate section where you can now enjoy watching a small group of Meerkats before wandering into the reptile section, if you dare.
Admission charges for the Museum and Butterfly world are not included.
