Enjoy a lovely day out to the beautiful vibrant market town of Richmond - With its iconic castle, fine historic buildings, sweeping cobbled market place and leafy riverside vistas, it is the original of no less than 105 worldwide Richmonds - all following in its ancient footsteps. You will find a host of individual shops, tempting eateries and exciting cultural and heritage attractions to explore and discover. Richmond also has an attractive indoor market with a range of stalls, ranging from local crafts to more edible treats. Good friendly cafe, and a very helpful tourist information centre. A lot to see, and purchase. Well worth a browse.
Later in the afternoon we continue our journey onto the amazing Mainsgill Farm Shop - There are exotic animals - emus, tortoises and llamas - plus rare sheep breeds in the fields behind the main building.
In the large shop, there is a huge range of local produce on offer, together with excellent clothing, furniture and more.
